Poplar Grove is called a “Conservation Community” because it combines responsible development, the preservation of open land and the conservation of historical and natural resources.
Rather than building 7,500 homes on the historically significant former rice plantation, developers decided to limit the number to only 450. This low-density development allows residents to enjoy full access to the natural amenities that abound.
Community buildings and amenities are designed with sustainable or green building components and, where feasible, pervious surfaces are used to minimize run-off and non point source pollution into Rantowles Creek. At each stage of the planning and building process, low-impact development techniques are examined and integrated into the project.
