Equestrian Center

In keeping with Poplar Grove's commitment to the environment, our new “Green” Equestrian Center exhibits efficient use of energy, water, and materials. Even the grasses and fertilizers used in the pasture areas are environmentally-friendly. The Poplar Grove Equestrian Center boasts 22 spacious, outward facing stalls and is specifically ventilated for optimum comfort for the horse and rider. Each 12'x12' stall is equipped with a monitored automatic waterer. The facility also has hot water indoor and outdoor wash racks, five grooming stalls, two tack rooms, two shower facilities, a feed room, hay barn, laundry facilities, club room, and visitor barn with trailer parking and hook-ups. Ample paddocks, pastures, and turnout spaces are available, including private and "buddy" turnout.

Equestrian director and trainer Hillary Sadler, along with trainer Todd Wisegarver, offer top “A” show-quality boarding and training focused on hunters, jumpers, and equitation. Our knowledgeable staff's approach toward equine care is "horse specific," with customized feeding routines and turnout schedules based on each horse's specific needs. Riding lessons in flat and jump disciplines are available. Poplar Grove also offers several clinics a year given by nationally recognized veterans of the sport. More than 50 miles of trails and hoof-friendly lanes provide for horseback riding and carriage driving along waterways, canals and marshes. This unique equestrian community enjoys all types of horse-related activities in a comfortable, safe environment.
